Helmut Balk, head of institute and organ maker

Helmut Balk is the founder and head of the institute, responsible for concepts and projects.

Our fundamental motivation is a better understanding of craft techniques achieved in a cooperative process.

Artisanal musical instruments up to the late 18th century were designed as refined sound tools for musical thoughts and ideas. Following this path has become a passion more and more. Artisanship as a life science formed "Haupt- und Neben-Wege" of my own life.
